Geography Fieldtrip

The week began with our Geography fieldtrip to Mason’s Wood. Ribble River Trust explained the process of erosion and how we were unable to walk along Savick Brook because of erosion. We also discussed how used Christmas trees and sticks were helping with erosion on river beds and banks.

During the afternoon, we learnt about water safety and S.A.F.E – stay away from the edge and played some team games. We also came up with a mission in small groups- What can we do to protect our rivers? Some great ideas from the children: take shorter showers, use a toilet hippo, join a group to collect litter… What else could we do?

Tuesday brought a snow day and we had lots of fun out in the chiily air buliding snowmen and running around on the crisp, solid ground.
