Happy new year

Happy new year to you all. We have had some very enthusiastic children this week telling us all about their holidays what they have been doing eating and where they have been. We also have had more children join our class who are settling in well.
Can I remind you all PE is now on a Monday please make sure your child’s kit is in school, your child will be getting changed in class. Our outdoor day is still a Friday please please please dress for the weather, a number of children are coming in weather not suitable for the season. Wearing a number of layers is better to keep your child warm than either one thick or thin.

We have had a great start to the term learning about animals in the Antarctic and being explorers. We are looking forward to learning about some real explorers and what they found in the area this coming week. In thinking about the South Pole we have been exploring snow, (we would quite like a bit of the real stuff the weatherman said we may get) and learning about the life cycle of a snowflake. The favourite word of the week has definitely been hexagon as we learnt that all snowflake have 6 sides. I wonder what you can find at home with 6 sides?
