Welcome to Little Saplings Class. We are going to have a great year together with lots of adventures and fun learning. Please read all the below to help your child get the most out of the time they are with us. It is important your child is dropped off between 8.45am and 8.55am so they do not miss any learning that happens at the start of the day, additionally they need to becollected on time as this can be very upsetting for them. Please inform us of any changes in who is collecting your child. Failure to collect at the correct time of booking will incur a late collection charge.

Please come ready for the start time of the sessions you have booked for your child. If your child is not going to attend due to illness please call by 9.30am

Breakfast club 7.45am – 8.45am. You may bring your child’s breakfast for them to eat at the group

School day  session 8.45am – 3:15pm

Lunch Your child can either bring a home-packed lunch or purchase a school hot dinner

After school club 3.15pm – 4pm

Do NOT send your child with any toys, games, phones or smart watches this causes upset when we need to move them. We have a wide range of resources and activities for all our children.

Please only send in your childs PE bag we do not send in additional bags as we do not have space for any others.

Please note WE ARE NUT FREE. We have children with allergies so please do not send your child with any nuts or nut-based food.

If your child has an inhaler please ensure it is sent to school labelled in a bag and the medication form completed.

What will my child need?

All children need a full change of clothes in their RED PE bag including socks. Please make sure your child’s clothes are named. Hats suitable for the season are important. I hope that we may still have some sun in September so your child may still need a sun hat.

For those not toilet trained, you need to send nappies/pull-ups, wipes and nappy sacks. Please label these so we can put them together for your child. We will let you know when they need more.

Your child will need a water bottle to be left in school with their name on it. These will be regularly cleaned.

Wellington boots are to be left in school with their name inside.

Slippers are optional. We have a slipper box for children to wear inside should they wish to do so. These need to have a sole and a back on. They need to be suitable for going outside should there be a fire drill.

Friday is camping day. This is year round no matter what the weather is. Your child needs to come to school suitably dressed for the weather to be outdoors all day. During the winter months if you wish to send gloves for your child they need to be the waterproof type. Gloves made from wool get damp and cold. Please do not send your child with mittens as these make it hard for your child to access resources and activities.  This includes suitable clothes shoes and waterproofs. We will only use the indoors for toileting on this day. There is no such thing as bad weather just unsuitable clothing!

PE in the hall will take place on a Tuesday morning. Children will need the school PE kit. This needs to be left in school as your child’s spare clothes in the bag provided. footwear for PE is either pumps or trainers. Any earrings will need to be removed or covered up for PE.

On our class page on the school website you will find our curriculum overview for the year and each half term. Here we post weekly information and photos of what we have been learning.
