May is fast approaching, so in class we have been preparing for this month of Mary. We have been doing some Art work, that is now displayed in the entrance hall and we have been reading about Mary in the Bible. We read the first story where Mary appeared in the New Testament – ‘The Annunciation’. This is when Mary was visited by The Angel Gabriel and her pregnancy with Jesus was announced. We put ourselves in Mary’s shoes and considered how she would have felt at that time. The children took part in some meditation, listening to this story from Mary’s perspective before writing their own take on these events.
We have also been practicing for the May Procession, which takes place on Friday 3rd May – please come to join us as we process across to Church and celebrate Mary, the Our Mother. Please pray for sunshine in the meantime!
