Measuring

We have a lovely week in Hazel class. In maths, we experimented with juice to make the best tasting drink. We had to measure different amounts of water and cordial to make the perfect drink. We then measured different sized cups to see what was the best container for our drink if we were really thirsty or if we only wanted a little. The year 2’s then extended this to learning about how to measure temperature.

We have also written our on ‘Whales’ song’ story in English, with some very imaginative descriptive writing.

In RE we discussed the Lords Prayer and what the different parts meant and what it made us think of and how it made us feel.

On Friday we also took part in the May Procession, celebrating and honour Mary, Mother of God.

Joanna – We really liked making and tasting all of the different drinks and seeing which was the strongest and the weakest drink

Ivy – I liked taking part in the May procession and making my flowers

Adil – I enjoyed learning about measuring and measuring temperature

Matthew – I liked ordering the different measurements using the more than, less than and equal to signs (The crocodile always eats the biggest number!!!)

Ethan – I liked learning about the Lords prayer and learning about the different parts

Oliver – I liked using the measuring jug and our maths lessons this week

Aaisha – I really like doing PE and learning how to throw overarm

Abdullah – I enjoyed our English this week and writing our own story

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend and we will see everyone bright and early on Tuesday.
